He has held governance, executive, management, and technical roles at international institutions, major philanthropies, multinational corporations, and NGOs, and he serves as an advisor to the World Health Organization on strategic planning and financing. Sam is a trusted contributing expert at the New York Times, The Economist, Foreign Policy, and the BBC, and holds degrees in international and development economics from Strathclyde Business School and SOAS, University of London.
